I believe my Maytag HE top loader has a sensor that senses how much clothes you are putting in it, and adjusts the water level accordingly.

Interesting info. Thanks. I didn't realize that top loading HE did not adjust water level for the load size. I remember the old non-HE top loaders had a knob that you turned to indicate the load...

I always use hot water. But I did use a full scoop. I think the problem with Top loading HE machines is that the water level is pretty low in them and the clothes spin vertically as against...

Perhaps. However, what is strong to one person may be mild to another. For someone who is used to unscented detergent, the "mild" scent one person referred to may be strong enough to be undesirable....
