With as many failures as we see in our shop with the DV series (especially the 9000 and 6000 series) I wouldnt put anything in a DV except maybe a hammer to save me grief down the road.

Open up your laptop. If the harddrive is way smaller than a normal laptop HD, then it is 7mm. Otherwise, it is 9.5. Should fit a dv7.

No, the M3 is faster than the M5 in everything but sequential speeds. 2Xnm Toggle NAND will outperform 19nm Toggle NAND in everything else and most people aren't doing huge file transfers with SSDs....
