The Roku XS is always on. There is no on/off button as it uses so little power there is no need to turn it off. (At least that's what it says in the manual.)

this thing is a piece of crap, it overheats, freezes and stutters, I had it for a week and returned it, does come with a 5.99 vudu credit which i used then brought it back.

Got this for somewhere around $40 last black Friday. It locked up a few times a week. It was kinda clunkly to navigate. Returned and got a Roku. Roku is sooo much better.

Someone gave me an Apple Air (720p); it set up very easily, but I haven't the download bandwidth to use it; 1.3 Mb/sec. Common wisdom seems to be; "Nothing less than 5 Mb/sec".

Look for a Western Digital Media Player (older model) on Craigslist or eBay. I'm sure you'll find them for under $50. Live and Live Plus are previous models
