Toothpaste polishes the oxidation, it doesn't remove it. Your lenses are cloudy within a few weeks using toothpaste. Go pour some Coke on your battery terminals while you are at it.

That depends on where you live and how much the headlights are exposed to UV.
Mine lasts a year without any sealant in NorCal.
Problem with the sealant is that it comes off after 2-3 car washes...
