The RAM Disk will backup to your HDD/SSD and re-load after each reboot. It can make boot times a slower as a result. For reference, I don't have a RAM Disk installed currently but I have used them...

a while back TD had a 2x4GB set 1600 Mhz 1.5V set for $25 after rebate. I'll waiting for that price point again. This deal is nice if you don't want to wait.
