exactly this issue, they're only matching in price drives that folks used to pay a premium for like Crucial, Plextor, Sandisk and even Kingston many of those drives are no rebate deals.

TRIM enabled in Windows TRIM working with the Sandisk at the firmware level. TRIM does NOT function properly in the Sandisk Extreme drives with the current firmware. I just checked their support...

so basically even though windows is showing that TRIM is enabled, the firmware on the device does not support it. That is not good, hopefully they come out with a new firmware to fix this..

What do you guys think of Corsair Force Series 3 versus the Crucial M4, Samsung 830, and Intel 330, in terms of reliability? Seems like you both like the Corsair Force Series 3 above this SanDisk...

I can say, I have 2 of these - 120GB version and 240GB version (both thanks to slickdeals) I didn't update the firmware, not sure what version is but I can say they both work rock solid for months...

ONLY IF AMAZON is the actual seller and shipper. THAT IS NOT the EXTREME!!

Sandisk is currently using R201 on their Extreme SSD, which is based on the 5.0.1 firmware from Sandforce. 5.0.3 addresses the TRIM issue but Sandisk was supposedly waiting for 5.0.4 due to a...

TRIM is kind of important......wouldnt touch a drive without it.

I am not sure why people are saying that the Extreme drives dont have TRIM enabled. I just bought the 480GB Sandisk Extreme drive from Amazon (the $349 deal) and it came with the latest firmware and...

OK folks have TRIM confused with "garbage collection". TRIM is support for OS level calls to delete blocks. Most SSD drives do garbage collection as part of normal background operations, most folks...

Keep in mind the Force GS and Force Series 3 are two different drives. The Force GS has the toggle NAND which gives it faster performance, even though they both use SF controllers. I would go with...

What I understand is the drive is a bit slower when it has to write over deleted blocks. So writing to the first drive for the first time should be fast and reading from the drive should be fast as...

Force 3 uses Async NAND, while I have the 120GB and it has been reliable - all the drives mentioned will perform better on uncompressible data, the GT series would be more comparable

Confused...the article talks about 5.0.3 and 5.0.4 firmware pending...and as far as I can tell, 5.0.2 is the current shipping firmware. Seems that 5.0.1 is out of date. Not that 5.0.2 fixes the...

it just pales next to an M4 for $150 no rebate. plus ASYNC NAND drives get slammed unless they're crappy Agility drives selling at fire sale prices - but I run the Force 3 and would take over an...

Corsair doesn't drop their prices really low very often like OCZ, and when they do, people here tend to sleep on those deals. I think the best one right now is a 240GB Force Series 3 for $140 AR...
