The S80G is 100mbps, not gig. I got that one anyway; it's a lot more forgiving of bad cabling.

They aren't a hub in that they can logically route traffic, managed or not. So if you have something going to IP 192.168.1.2 - that is the only PC that gets the data. With a hub, all devices on it...

I did have one of the power supplies for on of these die after about 6 months the switch itself was fine though. I spent another 1.06 for a power supply on ebay for it and its back to working again.

Generally I find that the metal ones don't wear down as easily, I find that they also don't overheat especially in confined places so in the long run are more sturdy.
