In Cali, when buying a cell phone, you have to pay tax on the full unsubsidized price rather than the price you pay for the phone. Thusly, an iPhone that is $199 will be $199 + tax on $649.

duh you have to pay tax on just about everything here in california not of food in the market though. but yes on take out, etc.
