Got the card in, installed. But PC keeps shutting off randomly, usually when GPU is under load of some sort, whether game or installing driver. Audio is somewhat hit and miss via HDMI as well. Tried...

Troll, troll, troll your boat... Meanwhile, we'll enjoy our heavily discounted 7970s (both due to Amazon/NewEgg and Bitcoin mining)

There is Tax on amazon for CA, but I'm pretty f***ing tempted to buy this card. I really want to wait for the 8000 series, but this is a killer deal even at $350

3x will stomp a 690's rear ;-0 Price wise ...... not sure the x2 preformace can be beat for $640 as its one rebate per household. unless dipping one newegg and one amazon? then its $620 - much love...

except borderlands 2 got boring in about an hour if you've played borderland 1, it's the exact same game. Looks a bit better, runs better, but there's literally nothing new about it. ...

The 7970 is a solid card. I would be a little leary of a stock cooler like this, because of the heat and noise, but it's hard to argue the performance. If you are playing at 1080p, you will...

Is this reference card, which waterblock can I use on this card?? I currently have EVGA GTX 670 FTW (paid $410) For the price I would liek to switch to this as long as I can get waterblock for it...

I owned a 5850, and replaced it with an EVGA 670 FTW. It's debatable which is the better card. Personally I think the 7970 > 670 > 7950. Ultimately the games you play, whether you OC or not, and...

Rep'd for truth - so many NV fanboys and FTL owners get butthurt when I try to let people know that card may not be the best 670 option, it's nice to see there are some other objective people out...

Tried it. I think there's some bugs with it like in the thread. It starts off 50+ FPS but then drops to sub 20, and never really recovers. Saw a little difference with some crumbling rocks but...

I just want to chime in as I'd bought similar card which is Visiontek 7970 from previous TigerDirect deal. The first card they sent had a problem of black screen and cannot wake up from deep sleep...

Try manually pushing the fan to 60% or higher using MSI afterburner, it worked for my 7970.

Thanks! I think I will do a clean removal of all drivers and all of Borderlands' dependencies, but I'm not sure that 12.6 supported the 7xxx series? Do you have the 7970 or the 6950?

This is still a good deal with tax. I paid $374 including tax for my Visiontek 7970 @ tigerdirect.com. And that was the best deal for a 7970. Even with tax this still beats the price I paid. Has...

I do agree, but this card is a beast as well... similar power consumption and heat. What I'm saying is I'm not sure if I even need the 2 - 2.5x performance this card offers! For Crysis 3 maybe? ...

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-fx-pentium-apu-benchmark,3120-6.html According to that, a $60 cpu (pentium g630) is better than a quadcore AMD for starcraft. However, suffice it to say...

Yes - this is the 680's AMD equivalent. For higher resolutions the 7970 is even more preferable due to its additional ram (3GB) and its higher overclocking headroom when compared to the 680. ...

Unlocked 6950s are only worth about $150 now and a 7970 is only about 160% faster, though naturally 3GB vs 1GB (or 2GB) on your 6950 will make it more future proof. If you have a 2GB 6950 your best...
