the problem is that it costs alot for back up. say you're running raid 5 for about 12TB, to back that up, that's probably another 12TB, at the rate of 4TB per 200, we're looking at close to 1000...

Actually, I have the G6 running as my server and HTPC all in one. The server had to go somewhere, so I put it close enough to the tv and installed a video card with hdmi.

I pay around 100 per tape for lto5. Thats 1.5tb uncompressed... thats 8 tapes to get 12tb plus the very high cost of the disk drive, not to mention the manual labor of constantly changing the tapes...
