the problem is that it costs alot for back up. say you're running raid 5 for about 12TB, to back that up, that's probably another 12TB, at the rate of 4TB per 200, we're looking at close to 1000...

I pay around 100 per tape for lto5. Thats 1.5tb uncompressed... thats 8 tapes to get 12tb plus the very high cost of the disk drive, not to mention the manual labor of constantly changing the tapes...

Doesn't require HP drives but does require HP trays for a regular SATA drive. Do an Amazon or ebBay search for HP Hot-Swap Tray 373211-001. They cost about $13 each
