A full version, Professional, is much better than a dinky Win 7 upgrade to 8 Home version. Only a dimwit would pretend that an upgrade, that relies on installing Windows 7 and going through the...

Just letting everyone know that Server '12 is part of the regular dreamspark that most colleges have, not the premium.

shut up. If you click the desktop tile you have the Windows 7 GUI. The only difference is the start menu being full screen. Why don't people get this yet?

I agree, This is exactly my gripe with Win8. I don't need to see more, I just need to see what I need to see without having to take my eyes off of my work. I just cannot see how win8 w/ Metro could...

What's the catch? Even if I'm not currently a student I can pay $99 for the first year annual fee and get WP8, VS 2012, etc. which are much much more expensive if I pay retail?

That's funny because I do a very good job of it. Maybe I'm not human or maybe we're just not all the same. I have used Win8 extensively (much, much more than a day) and I still find absolutely no...

Like I said I've tried Win8 extensively. I used every release Beta, Preview and RC offered looking/hoping to find a reason to upgrade. I, for the life of me, can't find it. I don't mind change at all...

Why not just put those programs on your desktop and save the time from opening the Start menu if you use them so often?
Post #53612208 added 10-01-2012 10:58 AM by petard in Archived Deals
You can do this in Windows 8 if you want to. But then you have to go to the desktop and disrupt which windows are open and which are minimized. Same as in 7. I actually pin my most used programs...

So you opted for a full year membership of IEEE for $32, rather than a membership to ACM for $19? Isn't the upgrade Microsoft giving to anyone with a Windows PC only going to cost $39? I can see...

I know you can download multiple Windows 8 keys because you can grab a 32bit and 64bit build. I'm not sure that you can grab multiple Server keys as it only has an x64 build.

Is that a way around the 1 license thing? So I can download both 32 bit and 64 bit of Windows 8? I'm only seeing 64 bit versions of Windows 8. English and English-Great Britain.

It would be awesome if you could read the thread and Wiki. Since you can't, here's the info - ACM is ONE license at $19 IEEE is TWO licenses at $32 From there you can determine your own needs....
