It is not riplocked. Also, the optical Quantum disks are not so hot. Neither are the Rosewill ones. I wish I'd have just gotten the drive and spent the extra $11 on good disks. It will not quality...

Had this drive for a while now. Still waiting on a firmware release to fix some problems with the drive. Talked to LG and they said they haven't noticed any problems and it doesn't need a firmware...
