The T420 was just discontinued, which is why it's so cheap - the T430 is the latest model. For the difference in price, I'd go for the T420 - there's not a lot of difference between the machines.

Yes, Fal makes a good point - the HP Probook and the Dell Latitude series are good alternatives to the Thinkpad, as long as you stick with those models. The HP Probooks are good, but stay FAR away...
