Where does the -$400 come from?

There's no such thing as "better reach" with crop senor. You can manually crop the full frame image to 16x if you'd like and have 10x the "reach" of 1.6x crop senors.

can we expect a better offer by Thanksgiving? (I hate this auto-complete...)

I jumped on this yesterday and now today onesaleaday just listed the Rebel T4i with 18-55 lens for $705 with shipping, almost $200 less. Is that a better deal?

The free telephoto is nice outdoors, but low light performance can't match FF. As with most things, it's just a matter of price. If you're willing to throw 2-3k on a FF and have a use for its added...

not much to flip that it is not newest any more.

oh yeah huh its only $300 my bad but reality is amazon is selling the same shit for $1,100.99 so cant see how $900 sucks ass???

i like this over the t4i for the top lcd display alone, so much faster and easier to change your settings no tax in ny is another nice perk

Definitely a great deal. You can't argue the fact it's over $200 cheaper than amazon's best price. dpreview says this is just a little better, but in almost every catagory, than the t4i.

old? it's the same sensor.

As far as I know, $900 is the lowest this kit has ever been. Yes, it has been $900 two other times in the past couple of month, but it does not make it a bad deal. This is the most camera+lens you...

Not a full frame camera. Wait for Mark II
Post #53717602 added 10-05-2012 5:57 AM by macinmn in Archived Deals
You were probably thumbed down for non-replication at the $800 price. I am showing $899 also. It's not a bad deal if this is the kit you want (and it's a pretty good one with this versatile...

Even leaving aside that that the 60d is old, the lens is kind of crappy, too. The new 18-135mm IS STM that got introduced for the T4i is way better.

He is either talking about waiting for a deal on the 5DM2, or wait for a Mark II version of the 60D, which I think won't ever exist, since the 6D was announced. Canon is very smart (or cruel) to...
Post #53722166 added 10-05-2012 9:19 AM by scottegos2 in Archived Deals
So? The sensor is the only thing in the camera? There will almost certainly be some replacement soon that supports the new STM lenses and has other improvements since the 60d came out over two years...

The 6D is FF though. I haven't given this much thought, but it seems they need a step up from the 60D (60D mkII or 70D?) that incorporates the t4i's hybrid AF for shooting movies with AF, with...

can we expect a better offer by Thinking?
Post #53712844 added 10-04-2012 10:18 PM by sn0man in Archived Deals
Yeah, I'm thinking it's not going to be $800. I'm betting it will be for $899, like every other time they've had this deal.

The attached pic shows $1199 - 3 ($100 Coupons) = $900  The $100's are layered, like nachos. (Breaking Bad reference lol)

Amazon had a smoking hot deal in November last year, so it's possible to see it again this year.If I am not mistaken, 60D body net price was around $400 after selling the lenses, printer and rebate...

IMO if you're looking to spend around $1000 on a camera that only really does photos (since if you're doing video, the T4i will blow this out of the water), I would spend the extra $200ish and get...

so you're saying the 60D is old compared to the 60D's sucessor?
Post #53722688 added 10-05-2012 9:38 AM by scottegos2 in Archived Deals
I am saying that it is already old technology and that this isn't a particularly compelling deal for an old platform. For a not-exceptional $900 you get an aging camera body, a mediocre lens, and an...

I agree with what you have said. I think it's funny how people dismiss crop cameras so easily these days. I just shot a college football game a few weeks ago and the free extra telephoto reach was...

Mark II deal was three days ago @ $2100 AR, keeping lens but selling printer. 2.5x the cost with 'a' lens if you are just starting with DSLRs, Mark II is too much and this is a better deal. Plus...
