you should be able to connect to any screen as long as its able to use hdmi functionality(i connected set-top boxes to monitor). I don't have this but some one who has can provide their input.

When this first came out it didn't support 3d playback but Sony sent firmware upgrade to make it support 3d playback. I have one and I watch 3d every now and then.
