You can always call/chat with Dell after you place your order to "cancel" your order. They'll offer you a credit to keep your order, but that credit amount seems to vary, so YMMV.

1080P is not a that big of a deal for most consumers, look at the macbook. XPS quality is also much superior to Inspiron. I remember scoring XPS 15 - L502X for 450$ @ the outlet, those days are over.
