I own this card. I don't have it overclocked. It's fairly quiet. You hear the fan running when it's stressed but not too loud. FYI, I leave my case open. Great card to use with 120hz monitor. ...

Would a 670 offer a noticeable upgrade over a 7870?

I got lucky last week, they had the EVGA for $355 after $15MIR, but they accidently posted it for $335 after MIR, so they had to honor it. Was only that price for like 15 minutes. Going to sell...

That issue seems kind of 50/50 for/against on the overclocking forum. You should note that while some people have more performance, others are not even able to boot because of the increased power...

Hey! I resent that! I live in my Mom's basement, and I'm planning to moveout soon... just had my 64th birthday, I did... :lmao:

so finally, after multiple posts, you've "proved" your entire argument with the results of only one card. the fact that you claim that one card may have decent overclockability doesn't disprove...

Do you overclock the cards to the same levels?

It's not bad. TigerDirect also has a 670 for $349.99 AR with Borderlands2 and 6% CB.

After-market open air designs are superior to 99% of reference blower designs in temperatures, overclocking, and acoustics (excluding HIS IceQ 7800/7900 series designs this generation). In a modern...

I'm planning on having all the parts I need by the end of this coming week (I've ordered everything else but GPU), so waiting is not an option for me. :shake:

Did they ever put that on top of a 670?

Still waiting on a deal to to SLI with this one from a month back. I got in on that card, and it has been an OC champ.

Could be because its a reference card and people want a custom card with better cooler, specs etc. I got in on the galaxy deal and that cost me $307 with Borderlands 2.

Its the 2gb reference card. Don't have the model. You can fit a corsair H80 onto to it too.

I don't know why people are knocking MSI as a brand. They have a lot of loyal fans. And their pricier power edition 670 holds the distinction of being the ONLY 670 with a special voltage regulating...

Yeah, but the way that goes is people return the cards and nVidia takes the hit. That's why they stepped in and put a stop to it. Credit to MSI for trying to push the limits... good on ya, I say!
Post #53756174 added 10-06-2012 11:45 PM by yesitsmario in Archived Deals
At stock speeds, the 670 will have the edge, but when overclocked, they are pretty equal. The 7950 is the better bang for your buck.

You will never see a top end card on sale for BF. You only see older low end stuff and mostly with a rebate. How do I know? I have looked every year the last few years and this is what I found....

most people are not going to drop over 3 bills on a video card when one for $150 to $200 will play anything out there. the economy can have alot to do with that.

Radial fan is louder, but it dumps heat OUT instead of INTO your case. The design is actually better for system-wide overclockers. Use the fan curve to make a quiet profile during movies, and only...

The only good blower designs are the ones used by HIS's aftermarket IceQ series.
