The Galaxy is really fast. Keep in mind that if you have a smaller case, the eVGA might be better for airflow. (Galaxy recirculates in case while the eVGA pushes out - open fan vs forced)

Also to add weight to the AMD case is the 7950/7970 ship with 3GB of onboard ram - so at higher resolutions - these cards really start to pull away from Nvidia.

I think its both - Nvidia really crippled these cards memory bandwidth. If Nvidia priced this more at the level of its direct competitor - i.e. the 7850 - I think we'd have a really good value...
