So what is the question? Different manufactures systems work differently. Not all of them have a visual camera. Some use radar combined with lasers too.

does anyone have one of the newer cars with the radar braking system?
it senses how close you are to the car in front of you and if you are 4 seconds starts chiming and auto braking.

Commuting in work traffic in MA, you basically want to leave less than a car's distance between you and the other guy, even when going 65mph. Otherwise some doofus will jam in the free space. Scary...

I believe its because it uses a combination of sensors 1. radar on bumper 2. camera behind rear view. The camera cannot operate accuratley at night.
