The lightbulb is notifications, not deal alerts. May I suggest switching your dealalerts to be PM's or Emails. Would make it easier to keep track of. You could just delete the ones you've already...

your doing it wrong - click on it with the scroll wheel to open it in a new tab - then when you are done, close the tab
also, just use the little lightbulb to go to your deal alerts, and check on...

That takes care of "issue" 3, although I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work the logical way even when using the back button...
