They don't go higher than like 5200-5400, they are GREEN drives because they only run that fast when you are doing lots of IO, otherwise they spin down/stop/shut off when idle.

They easily achieve as fast as regular 5400rpm drives, for half the capacity you can get WD black 7200rpm same price. That is the trade off, if you arent using an ssd for boot drive your doing it...
