I agree, but most of the used ones I've found end up having a tiny hole that you don't know about until your first night you use it. At least if you buy it new at REI you can always take it back for...

I have had the 2.5 and 3.5 of these beds for years now and they are awesome! We use them all the time. Only trick is to store them OPEN then they self inflate much better.

Exactly. Just lay it out, open up the valve, and wait a while as it fills up with air. You many need to top it off a bit at the end.

I have the 3.5 and this camping pad is amazing! I've used thermarest in the past and these are so much better! I would get the 2.5 if I didn't already have one. You won't regret it!

Or you can get a pool lounge type float. I paid $4.50 for mine, comes with a built in pillow, and has lasted 3 seasons of heavy use on multi-night backpacking trips..
