Yeah, usually $ off only stack if one applies to a specific product, and the other applies to the general tranaction (ie $20/$75).

Correct. As long as you have a second item to "receive" the $20 off. The Keurig itself can only accept the 20% off coupon or the $20 coupon. (and if you go with the B145, you'll want to use the 20%...

I was trying to buy the keurig coffee machine, and the 20% off didnt allow anything else to be applied. It looks like staples wants the % to be taken off the least subtotal amount.

The register does not care IF they do stack as they both come off the sub-total before tax. The cashier may care if the 20% drops the total below $75 which is the minimum on the $20 off $75.

My guess is that she entered as a PM, which I don't think requires an override for $20. What does your receipt show? It will either say "price guarantee" or "coupon" under the item.
