I said, 10+ miles. that's equal to 43 shots on a camera.

I called and CSR said they received those cameras from Olympus as marked brand new. I will have to pay shipping to return it for a refund. I am not happy. My advice to all is to just get a demo...

I agree that 43 shots is still plenty new. But if you want to push it, don't talk to a CSR at Amazon. They are clueless. Have them send you over to customer relations. If that fails, file a...

Awesome little camera. Got the kit for $200 as a refirb and brought it to europe. So much better than lugging around my 7D and so much better than a point and shoot camera

If you are willing to gamble on a factory demo you can get this camera w/a 14-42mm lens for $199.95. ...

Very tempting. Shipping was $11 to the west coast. Reviews indicate that their demos were almost indistinguishable from new items and they include a 1 yr store warranty.

Seems like getting the "demo" version for $120 plus the $100 "demo" 14-42mm II lens MSC would be a better deal than getting the kit with the version I 14-42 lens for $211 shipped

yea. plenty of factories test products. you'll find brand new cars with 10miles+ on them.

Just factory checks to make sure the camera is working properly although 43 is a little high. I heard this happen to much more expensive cameras so I wouldn't be worried too much.

Call Cameta is you have questions. I did not buy any of their kits but I did buy a factory refurb E-PL1 with the kit lens. I bought two non-Olympus batteries off eBay for spares. One worked...

I think he meant that you get a version 2 vs version 1 lens, others might rather have a new body vs factory demo
Post #54020598 added 10-17-2012 10:25 PM by francois in Archived Deals
This camera is decent though dated (over 2 years old). However the E-PL1 does not have a focus assist light and in low light it struggles to focus. A bright lens (f1.7 for example) will help a lot....

not cheap, but the panasonic 20mm (f1.7) is godly for around $300 with decent lighting it will take better photos than the NEX-5N with kit lens

Where can you get it $211 brand new?
Post #54042432 added 10-18-2012 7:08 PM by dbpaddler in Archived Deals
Even up to 3200 I'd take the PM1 if you really want to nitpick. You can play with ISO comparison shots in the dpreview review of the PM1 and compare it to the PL1. You'll see more noise getting...

At $100 more or so for the lens, it's not worth it. I got a "used" GF2 14-42mm kit with zero shots on the clock for $200 from the Cow. It was absolutely new with everything that could be sealed...

What exactly is the Cow? Also, the refurb with the lens seems like a way better deal.

I'm going to be that guy that I hate in threads like this and recommend a lens that's actually over $100. Unlike most tech, lenses really are worth the money and they retain their value for quite a...

Quite well. m43 is a great interchangeable lens format as pretty much all lenses as fully compatible between manufacturers. With Olympus, you of course also get the benefit of their in-camera image...

i have both the 20mm f1.7 and the leica 25mm and id say the 20mm is better for most occasions simply because it is more portable and the wider FOV. the 25mm fills a niche role for me when i want...

Yeah, I currently pack the 14mm Panny/14-42mm kit with my GF3 and I'm definitely looking to grab another prime. I'm not huge on the 14mm for portraits because you really do have to get quite close up...

What you are saying is that it is normal for a brand new Olympus camera having a shot count > 0. For cars I can understand for they have to be driven to be loaded onto a truck. On the other hand, I...

To my surprise, the one I received had 43 in shot count and I was expecting 0 since it was advertised as brand new. Is this normal? You can check the shot count via the instructions here.
