Yes, that's right - as stated, the 6 pt and 12 pt sockets apply essentially the same torque to a 6 sided fastener. The 12 pt socket with a 12 sided fastener can apply more torque, however.

That's actually reversed - a 12 pt socket is LESS likely to round a fastener - but in practice, it really makes no difference as the increased torque available with a 12 pt socket is diminimous.
