I've done this 2 ways. Gparted would probably be the easiest free tool. I've also used Hiren's Boot CD. Choose Mini XP, then load Partition Wizard Home Edition 7.0 to shrink/expand the partitions.

Not for me. As soon as I removed my WD drive to install in another PC, my WD edition of Acronis would not allow me to backup to any of my other drives.
