Finally checked mine. Shutter count was 930. Not sure if I'm too happy now. Thought it would have been lower.

Checked my shutter count 866. not bad, it looks to be in absolutely flawless condition, not a scratch. When I bought my d3100 from them about 6 months ago it only had about 200 clicks but all the...

I don't think the inventory is managed manually with online orders. Makes no point to have a system. You can try to ask but it will very difficult for CC to tell whether a particular unit was...

Disagree. If you use a filter like a lens cap then you need to take it off for every pic and replace it after. Which is a pain. And your advise about "forum" expert is good advise. And should be...

Ordering online allows you to use cash back sites. I get 3% back from mine. Thats $12 extra you save.

I know what you mean. I, too, owned a D40 since it came out. I do feel limited by its lack of features though. I've really outgrown the D40. I know a better sensor in the D5100 will take better...

I guess I'll just get the body only and get the 35mm 1.8 or 50mm 1.8. I have a canon set up already. I sold my D7000 when I got a good deal on a 5D mk2. Now I miss my nikon set up. I always like the...

d90 was $600 from bestbuy a long while ago, so I wouldn't image it being more than that now.

What's your justification for hating the t3i? Just curious since I just bought one and I love it. The t3i feels much more natural in my hands and I prefer the button placement over that of the...

Thank you. I am looking at the t4i. I missed some of the good deals. Now, probably I will wait for couple of weeks more.

Anyone have any luck with the nikon 18-200 lens or the sigma or tamron 18-250 lenses? Would like to have the extra zoom in an all around lens to avoid changing back and forth between the 18-55...

Used to have the Nikon 18-200mm lens. Not worth it, in my opinion, but you have to see for yourself. You end up paying so much money just to have image quality identical to the 18-55mm, and sub-par...

I agree, but when the D5200 comes out the D5300 or whatever the choose to name the next variant will also by definition be eminent, unless Nikon goes out if business. This about the price on the...

It is more of a convienence issue, i.e., not having to carry the extra lens around. Greatly appreciate the info. No need for the sarcasm regarding the ability to change lenses, that is obvious....

Canon does not have the focus motor in the camera body. Its in the lenses. They switched to lens motors long back and most of their older lenses have focus motors as well.

The LCD menu is an alright way for those transitioning from P&S to DSLR, however the top panel LCD is an extremely useful addition as it is always on and you don't have to keep pressing the info...

Damn it, this just cost me $450 but how can you not bite? Now I will have to sell my D40x so my wife doesn't divorce me for impulse buy.

I have some AF lenses that I inherited from my father-in-law with his Nikon AF N8008 film body. Will the AF lenses work with this D5100?
Post #54349416 added 10-31-2012 8:57 AM by ucbdeals in Archived Deals
No, it has no internal motor, so you will have to manually focus those older lenses. I think im going to bite on this...I already have the D3100 (snagged for

That is precisely why I was asking... I have a feeling they got hammered and could have significant damage to their store.

D7000 refurb is $799. I missed this during my original purchase of a D5100 body earlier today and will probably cancel and order the D7000 instead since I have a couple of screw type AF lenses.

It depends. I've used this camera quite a bit for video. It's major downfall is the inability to control the aperature and shutter speed in video mode. It's pretty much "auto mode" only with very few...
