1600 does run faster but its not very significant difference, most likely you wouldn't notice. like 1-2% maybe

I bought the 8 GB G.Skill kit for my laptop 10 months ago and it has been running smoothly ever since then. Apparently if you ever want to run CHKDSK you will need at least 9 GB's of Ram :)
