From what I learned, it is definitely better than the T3i for video. Beside the video advantage, the only other true advantage the T4i has over T3i is the touch screen. But, that is an advantage...

With the myriad of options to get pictures printed very cheaply nowdays...who the heck prints out their own pictures? I can only think of one.... very private pics.

Is this deal dead? it keeps saying it can't find the coupon code?

Is this deal valid if I choose 18-135mm STM lens?
Post #54586714 added 11-08-2012 12:40 PM by wpmmhe in Archived Deals
There is a bundle, Canon EOS Rebel T4i 18MP SLR Camera w/ 18-135mm STM Lens + EF40mm f/2.8 STM - Kit, including 32GB SDHC card and camera bag. But the $100 off code does not work, and the total after...
Post #54585274 added 11-08-2012 11:51 AM by sd_rebel in Archived Deals
Exactly. The enhanced video capability is something that appeals to me in this one, which requires the 18-135mm STM lens. If I buy the 18-135mm lens kit, is the rebate still valid?
Post #54587476 added 11-08-2012 1:04 PM by eViLNeWBiE06 in Archived Deals
Yeah, but we SDers never base our decisions off of MSRP ;-) That's about the same deal as the $1,000 AR (since the 40mm bundle could be had for $150 nowadays). My honest advice is to wait...

Thanks, been looking for this camera to be in a deal. I like the idea of selling off the printer as well. Was hoping for the STM lens though.

Thanks OP. I'm still waiting on a t4i with the 18-135 stm w/o rebate.
Post #54586642 added 11-08-2012 12:39 PM by sd_rebel in Archived Deals
Yes. You are right. Individually, the lens costs about $550, I think.
Post #54566302 added 11-07-2012 8:45 PM by Booaea in Archived Deals
This will not work. I believe it was stated on another slickdeal the rebate only works it the items aren't bundled. I wish so or I would jump on this in a heartbeat! I hope I'm wrong!!
Post #54566414 added 11-07-2012 8:52 PM by tstarks in Archived Deals
Deleted, this isn't a bundle, it's a camera and a printer being purchased separately...should be good to go.
Post #54573270 added 11-08-2012 5:40 AM by TLJester in Archived Deals
Doesn't this from the rebate form show the rebate is not valid as the code only works when the printer is added: "Neither the Pro9000 Mark II nor the Pro9000 Mark II and Digital SLR or PowerShot...

And take advantage of the video I need a pretty expensive lens?
Post #54625116 added 11-09-2012 1:52 PM by sd_rebel in Archived Deals
Yes. Not everyone cares about the video option, but someone like me does. Without a great deal, imo, this camera is not worth the cost. I would rather spend more money and get the 7D, which is a...

Ah man. After thorough analysis (spreadsheets and everything, Lol) I went with this18-55mm lens kit for $662 AR. For analysis, I used the Fry's $900 ($960 w/Tax) T4i with 18-135 usm as my...

Evil is right. I've read many comparisons that put the T4i close to the T3i in IQ and the conclusion is that the T3i is better as a result. First, this conclusion is factoring a price differential -...

Ugh I am stuck between the t3i and the t4i! The prices are so close it's hard to pick. One of the big things for me is the video so I would need the STM lens for video of my kids. I really want to...

I think you're correct, I was just editing my post. That's a big rebate to be iffy about, but I think you guys should be able to claim it.

Dang, and here I was brought up in this world thinking evil is wrong ;-) What's funny is that now that I have the T4i... I want to own all the STM lens in existence... good thing there's only...
Post #54585482 added 11-08-2012 11:57 AM by eViLNeWBiE06 in Archived Deals
Yeah, I think the 18-135mm STM has better image quality than both the 18-55mm and 55-250mm, which is actually surprising to me since that's not usually the case that a single lens that does...

I am on the same boat. I held on the previous T4i with 18-135 STM deal at $978, hoping it would be lower during the holiday season. You can make better use of T4i's video capability with STM lens;...

no worries on the rebate here imho. the camera bundle does not include the printer. the camera bundle and printer are being sold individually so rebate is good. the only thing to take note of is...
Post #54586198 added 11-08-2012 12:25 PM by eViLNeWBiE06 in Archived Deals
Yeah, but personally I don't think that it's worth it right now... I believe it's about $1000 AR, and I don't think there's a bundle involved - just the camera, lens, and printer.

Who wants to print the pictures instead of watching on a 60 inch TV? :-)
Post #54588116 added 11-08-2012 1:23 PM by sd_rebel in Archived Deals
I agree. I am going to wait too. This camera is not worth without the 18-135 STM lens, imo. If not for the better video capability, I would buy the t3i instead. Or, I will go for the 6D, which is...
Post #54589202 added 11-08-2012 1:52 PM by eViLNeWBiE06 in Archived Deals
Actually, without the video capabilities, I'd probably go with a Nikon D5100 instead. Lots of deals on those lately without having to deal with rebates. D5100 > T3i, but more on par with T4i and...

It was actually $953; there was a $25 coupon. I bit once I saw the coupon (even though it was only like a 2% savings) because I compared it to a previous FP deal for $894 and liked this bundle...

Thanks for the detailed response. I haven't submitted any rebate related to this. This is going to be my first DSLR. So, can I assume that the rebate is valid if I buy the camera with 18-135mm and...
Post #54589836 added 11-08-2012 2:09 PM by sd_rebel in Archived Deals
Yes, there are great deals on D5100 and is a very good camera, from the reviews everywhere. I think, I will wait for BF.
Post #54625326 added 11-09-2012 1:59 PM by sd_rebel in Archived Deals
I read in many reviews that the T4i is in no way better than the T3i for pictures. In fact some reviews say that the T3i outperforms the T4i in high ISO. So, why even pay more money and buy the T4i...
