I've bought 3 guitars for WMS and had no problem with them. I had an issue ordering one a year or so ago and the guy went out of his way to pull one off the floor of their retail location to get me...
They are all Poly Finish. Nitrocellulose is only used in a handful of places now. There is a huge EPA fine that has to be paid for each drum of nitrocellulose, or at least there was last I heard. ...

Blender Pre Amp is nice. I loved going between mic and pickup on my old Martin, should have never sold it.

Very good point, the 15% restocking fee + shipping for return is the only thing that makes these deal from WMS risky.

Given the kinds of deals your company has been offering lately, the unexpected has almost become expected.

I think most mass-produced guitars are pretty consistent these days. Ever since Taylor started using CNC machines to cut most of their guitar components, other manufacturers followed, especially in...

I've been following these washburn deals for what seems like two years now. Are they actually sold on the open market for anything close to the msrp?

Luckily, it was the last Washburn "deal" in solid wood guitars.

To all my guitar followers, you might want to read the description on this one. It looks like the apparently endless supply of Washburn bargains will soon be coming to an end. I don't think this is...

If the guitars are made overseas, why would there be an EPA fine?
Good point. But it still is a much more expensive process. It has to be sprayed and dry multiple times and buffed. Takes way more time and drives cost up. For USA factories it drives it up even...

Nope. No instruments are sold close to MSRP, regardless of the brand.

If it is the last one, they let you add two to the cart :)

Ive bought guitars there and never had a problem. They seem pretty cool. Their return policy says no restocking fee if you return it within 17 days (7 days to try it and call for a return number)...

This is what I figured. I'm the type that wants to sit in a different types of room, screw around with the guitar and really make sure I like the sound before I buy. And it could be a Alvarez or...

Now, keep in mind that buying a guitar online from this vendor is especially risky. It's not like buying from a major player like Musician's Friend, where I believe the return period is 45 days...
I work for wms. A point of clarification. This is the last "All Solid Wood" Acoustic steel string. There are a few classical models left that will go on sale that are all solid but no more steel...

Just to add to the counter argument, it not only depends on the craftmanship of the guitar, but also the material. There is no consistency in wood and one piece used to make one guitar can sound...

Do you happen to know whether Washburn uses poly or nitrocellulose finishes on their all-solid acoustics?

So if this was available through musician's friend, what do you think it would be listed at... $600-$700ish?

Not sure if you read the description or not, but if you are able to find one of these in a store, you are more than welcome to play it and compare. However, no two guitars are the same. Accoustics,...

FWIW, I've bought three guitars from WMS. I've had no issues whatsoever. :)

This seems like a great deal. I'm hesitant to buy something like a guitar online though. Ultimately, how do you know about the sound, intonation, etc. Can you play one in a store and safely expect...

That's too bad too, because China has some very skilled luthiers who can make outstanding guitars. Unfortunately, MADE IN CHINA usually means lower quality mass produced instruments, but that is not...
