I have been looking into portable heat pumps -- Portable air conditioners with a heat function. The specs of just one which I looked at noted a heating capacity of 9,000BTUs from just 1,050 watts....

We've had one of these for 5-6 years, I think. We got it from Home Depot online. We use it in the master bedroom, in our 1940s era Cape Cod house, where the master bedroom is half of the upstairs...
