Yes. You'll get individual IPs on each device connected to the switch. If your current setup is working fine for you then there is no advantage to switch.

That's an poption... although you'll be losing several ports, configuration options, and the ability to switch roles if you no longer need it as a bridge. What you will gain is..... nothing.
