I can but this has cold boot time similar to my rear projections days but this has no lamp to power on! Other than that it's a great TV for my bedroom.

Not really a fair comparison since once LCD tv size get larger, price exponentially increased. Fry has a similar deal for $499 or $599 for the combo last time. If you have to have both, best deal...

Is there a "economy" or "power saver" mode you can shut off in the settings?? I have a Toshiba and, for me, this is an option. Mine is a "dumb" TV though ... no internet access at all. Just 42 inches...
