Unless you want the hotel discounts\credits, you are better off with the Southwest,Citi Thank You Preferred or Barclays offers that have been posted here before. Those generally give you more back...

The real value of these points are in using them for hotel stay.
60k points might get you 3-4 nights at hotels.. That might be worth $500/night or more.
Cashing 60k points for cash might give...

If you use it for hotel stay, you would be using much more than $150.. I used 20,000 points per night for a hotel stay. The hotel was $550/night otherwise.

Are you calling a $49 annual fee outrageous? Even if it didn't come with a free night's stay every year (which it does), I hardly think that $49 fee is "outrageous".
