haha.. i can't believe i'm replying to this year old thread, yes i've one running 24x7 the past one year without any hiccups (formatted as ext3). also, have no problems with power off/reboot etc... :)

I've not been able to find any clear (non serial link) ways to revert back to stock from openwrt. I found a way do to do it from dd-wrt but not Gargoyle. How's it working these days, stable?

no, I'd the same as yours openwrt/gargoyle and I think I flashed dd-wrt from there... don't remember if I reverted it to stock in between

Try openwrt ffirmware with Luci. It may work better.
