What kind of bandwidth do you have from your ISP? I've had pretty good luck (not 100% CPU) on a similar class router (WHR-HP-G54) and Tomato, but that's with QoS on only 768k upload. If it were...

Newegg dropped their price on the WDR4300 back to $90 so $50 AR. I'm going to get it from there.

Why stop there? If fraud's your game file a complaint on ebay, present false evidence and get it for free! Or is that too 'creative'?

The only difference between the 3600 and 4300 is the 4300 has 3 data streams when using the 5Ghz band.

I just spent a little more time reading and playing with a VirtualBox VM of OpenWRT Attitude Adjustment beta2. I think all my fuss over CoDel is a bit premature. It looks amazing, but its really...

Yeah, the 16MB of RAM and 240Mhz CPU might be a real bottleneck there. Especially if the dudes are simultaneously streaming video from YouTube, Netflix, etc etc like I often do. I recently upgraded...

It's a WNDR3500L V2 running DD-WRT. Very stable without any QoS or sensitivity adjustments. I game all the time. Huge Steam account and Halo 4. :)

Well... that kind of invalidates everything you said to me in terms of usefulness. It doesn't take much processing power to throw internet at a group of machines without QoS.

This is probably a pretty basic (dumb) question, but as a new proud owner of one of these, how would I go about using it as a wireless bridge? Have an IP phone from work that I'd like to plug into...

Unfortunately CeroWRT doesn't work with the WDR3600 which is this deal... :( Doing some reading makes me think CoDeL is the only way to maintain ~100ms pings while roommates might be watching movie...

Haha... nope! If you can't even bother to google for OpenWRT, then it is NOT for you!

There are huge differences between the advertised speed of a router, and actual performance. Perhaps the differences are not as noticeable when you are comparing between routers that are 5ft away in...

So maybe you could add where to get an image for openwrt. Or do I need to download source and make it myself ? I didn't see an obvious place to get one.

Is your 3700 hardware V3? I've got a V1 and a V2 and never had a problem as long as I 30/30/30 to clear NVRAM after firmware updates. I've heard V3 is much different.
Post #54927528 added 11-18-2012 8:50 PM by petard in Archived Deals
I believe both are V1, nothing is written anywhere indicating the version. I did the 30/30/30 reset when I first installed DD-WRT and never changed the firmware after that. It just started acting up...

I inherited two Belkin Play N600 and they are pretty unreliable. They drop all the time even with DD-WRT or Tomato. Asus, Linksys, and Buffalo have all held on strong. I setup a lot of routers and...

Your WNDR3700 is stable? I have two of them, one just straight up freezes on any firmware including stock quite often. The other one is running dd-wrt and will just decide to hard reset itself...

Looks like they've now jacked up the price to 129.99, so it's now 89.99 AR which was their normal price before they had a rebate. Sneaky Newegg... :lmao:
Post #54920280 added 11-18-2012 5:12 PM by baby007 in Archived Deals
I dont think so cause he paid $68.99 as opposed to $39
Post #54920524 added 11-18-2012 5:22 PM by meaintsmart in Archived Deals
I think people are just confused about which router each other is talking about. Maybe the 4300 was cheaper before Newegg changed the price, but it was never as low as $68.99 before MIR.
