As another data point, if you happen to buy a tv at walmart, extended warranties are pretty comprehensive (they don't deduct previous repairs from value), and are priced reasonably.

Oh, interesting! Although, I do know for a fact that AMEX won't carry a warranty for a 6th year. They only cover up to 5 with either a separate third party, or manufacturer, warranty.
