I have not had good experience with WD Blue or for that matter Seagate, I would instead get the WD black. WD Blue did save battery so if you work away from a plugin point and keep backups ... go...

If you need 1TB of capacity, you only have one choice. If you don't, this will be a little faster. Higher density is faster for sequential read, but real-world perception is a matter of random reads....

Then I would recommend go with best GB/$ and highest capacity you can get. Also depending on I/O of motherboard you are using - SATA II (3Gb) / III(6Gb) will give you a boost or not. Both drives...
