As long as it doesn't deter someone from getting something. Another option is to buy 2 to use as fronts until a deal shows up on bigger speakers and a center. Still way better than TV sound.

The bass is pretty adequate IMO. For a 4" woofer they sound above average. But I don't expect these to shake the room. I just use them in a bedroom set up.
