Same boat here (didn't get 14z). Compared to 14z, this one has 2gb more Ram, better build quality perhaps 200GB less HD. smaller screen. same proc Seems about same value-wise.

Back- lit keyboard is on board. I have the 17 in version of this and it is pretty elegant and practical. Aluminum is cold to the touch and it is very stable.

I have this laptop and the form factor is very clean. keyboard and touchpad is EXCELLENT. Downside? The screen sucks. If you're lucky like I was, mine came with an LG panel. But it will come...

had a vostro from a long tim eago, and the sound from the speakers were practically muted.. dell laptops back then were pretty bad, i hoe it's not still the same. also, it's a 2nd gen CPU.

Actually with a backlit keyboard and a fingerprint scanner (i love those for signing into windows) this is pretty sweet i bought 2 of them also chase will give you extra 4 pts to the dollar if you go...
