The Citizen is a Japanese quartz Ecodrive while the VICTORINOX is a Swiss automatic. I have read really good things about both. Both seem a little busy for me personally. The Citizen comes...

The movement is very nice but the fact that ofrei wants $569 doesn't really mean very much...their prices on any movement are pretty high, so by that logic we should all run out and buy the swatch...

You won't find the Carrera Calibre 16 for around $3k from an authorized retailer, which means Tag won't honor the warranty.

I've only heard good things about Victorinox watches...not sure why some people think they are anything other then high quality. I also think they make some of the nicest looking watches out there....

I don't own this model, but I do own 4 other Victorinox automatics--they're all beautiful and the tolerances are ridiculously tight...from the links in the bands to the case and movements. I can't...

some observations: TAG - pros: bracelet, water resist to 660 feet; cons: quartz movement, Victorinox - pros: automatic ETA 7753 movement; cons: leather strap / not suitable for water activities
Post #55290156 added 11-25-2012 2:33 PM by iconian in Archived Deals
replace leather strap with anything you want for inside $30... I prefer nato strap for $10-15.. tag - replace movement? almost impossible :)

Victorinox watches absolutely great, and truly underrated. If you like the watch, buy it. One must remember that the value of a material good is often not directly related to its price tag.

Not to thread crapping but we are talking about $600 not $100. This is my take for your reference. I would buy it in a heart beat if these were Omega or Longines but I would think twice before I buy...

Return the Tag and buy this. Tag Heuers are great watches, but the one you bought is quartz. A Tag with the same mechanical movement as this Victorinox (Tag calls is "Calibre 16") costs over $2000.

I agree. At the end of the day this is still a Victorinox.
Thanks for all the feedback (repped everyone accordingly). I actually pulled the trigger prior to posting the reply. Hopefully it fits nicely with this band...
