I don't know the answer to your question but you can always purchase new/extra SATA cables from Newegg, Meritline or Ebay.

My Antec 300 case has a location on the bottom of the case for SSDs. The problem is I feel like it is causing the sata and/or power cables to twist in a funky way to get to the SSD. I don't know if...

People! The fan is NOT for cooling your SSD, it's to give your SSD back that familiar spinning sound. It's like taking off mufflers and adding flame decals. In 'mericuh, noise = power!

I might buy for a new computer. But first I'd need an SSD and too bad the 830 deals have dried up. :sadwalk:

Gotta leave a little mystery. And actually college too lol. Not sure what you're saying with 140mm, but smaller fans tend to have more annoying noise if pushing the same CFM.

Technically so is a CPU, but we all know how hot they get. I agree though... A fan is not required for a SSD.

Yeah, not sure why an SSD or an HDD would need its own fan. Maybe if your rig is outside in a blazing desert while you're cooking food right next to it.
