It's a pretty nice graphics card for a Laptop. Better than the Intel 4000. For $550, not a bad price. Add some RAM to the computer and it's a really nice machine.

The big 17.3" laptop was definitely a deal! I think the 15.6" is still available and a worthy deal if you must have the GT 635 graphics (I actually prefer 15.6" and 14" for a little easier...

yes 17.3" is out of stock. But you can still get the 15.6" for same price: 15.6" with similar specs & same...

I've been looking for a laptop with an HD screen and dedicated graphics card mostly for watching HD movies and playing the occasional game. Will this fits my needs? Also, can I remove the DVD...

Thanks for the tips. I thought about the bulk factor... there was a 15in linked earlier in the thread that looks identical, except for the screen resolution. Would that be a good alternative then?...

Agreed! But I'd go for the 15.6" Lenovo @ same price with similar specs for easier portability in a backpack, esp for students. Like others have stated, when at home you can always connect to an...

I bought this same laptop on black friday for $470 no tax and free shipping, but with a GT 630M instead of a 635M. Seems like the 635M is better by quite a bit, but is it worth the extra money? I...

I think most people may end up playing most games at resolutions no more than 1440x900 or 1600x900 since the FPS will suffer on games at higher res. Games will still play well with 1gb cards. So...

For you, I wouldn't think so.. Light gaming would be fine on what you got.. And that was a good price too! Extra $130 for a bigger screen and 1 GB of Graphics RAM isn't a good buy.

Since it says MAX 8GB, get a dual kit 2X 4GB.. Cheap stuff..

I'd get this laptop for my sis too except she wouldn't be happy with how bulky it is. 17in screen is going to be bulky. 6.6 lbs is heavier then her last. But if your sis is great with that, you sure...

it's hard to find a laptop with 1600x900 resolution and dedicated video card for $550. I'd like to see it first before buying... and newegg has pretty bad return policy.

This. This BF looked like inventory clear outs. It's like everyone wanted to offload before haswell popped out and made all of the products half as thin and twice as good on the graphics front.

Received mine. 1. 4GB stick in one slot. Ramaxel PC3-12800 ram (RMT3160ED58E9W-1600). I bought 2x4G sticks at PC3-10600. Debating now whether I should get one 8GB stick instead 2. Overall...

Definitely will cut it! The GT 635m is a good medium-high class 2 graphic card (a lot better than class 3 subpar integrated graphics)....

Good deal. The only things to knock are the large 17.3" size versus 15.6" or 14" & slightly small size 500gb harddrive. This looks like one of the best deals of the BF shopping season this year. ...

for me there is no tax, so 550 is the final price, 635M is much better than 630 M, I think the 80 $ is worthy I agreed with you most, I prefer the 17' :)

Not at lower resolutions, at higher resolutions (1080p) you may have to lower the quality of textures.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.. Would the 15' with 1GB less ram REALLY make a difference? Cause the 17' might feel flimsy..
Post #55450982 added 11-28-2012 11:35 AM by atoneapone in Archived Deals
You got an excellent deal, and imo don't think it's worth the trouble to do the trade for $130(too much). Your deal is near the best price ever for that laptop and this is better by a nice bit, but...

I saw that too. Is 16GB going to make a difference? I would mind to buy one 8GB stick if the laptop has one 4GB stick there. Otherwise I probably will go for 2x4GB sticks to replace 2X2GB sticks.

Thanks OP! Bought one. Been waiting a long time for a replacement on my 4 year old laptop. Any suggestions on upgrading the RAM? Can I add any 4gb stick or should I buy a matching set of 4x2?

Can't believe I missed out on this. It was exactly what I was looking for. Decent gaming capabilities and resolution for a good price on a big laptop. =(
