I kind of resented that they forced you to Beamdog instead of going with a well-established distributor like Steam or GOG. Did Beamdog give them a sweetheart deal or something?

Well, I tried it and it is not good. Looks and feels the same as the old version, the mechanics are up to the BG2 standards in terms of classes and items. The game itself is now less compatible...

All I know is their web installer is very broken. Downloads die and you end up having to tweak the thing to get it to download. Would not suggest going that route if there are other options.

I looks like the community did better just porting the BG2 changes over. I think I'll give this a shot since I never played the TOTSC content.
