These are all rated at around 200fps, unless you get hit in the eye you're not even gonna feel that.

You might want to check your local laws before you buy. These are illegal to carry in my town. I’d also suggest buying biodegradable BBs over regular plastic ones. No sense littering your yard...

These are pretty much toys which are not that high powered and will break anyways after a few uses. Then the kids will use them to enact Call of Duty scenes.

My experience is also with guns in the 275-350 FPS range. The nice thing about these cheapo guns is that they shoot realistically between 100-200 FPS making them much safer for the kids to play...

Those guns are crap. Prices are basically what you'd expect as regular prices, not sale prices. For reference, you can check eBay or other airsoft sites like airsplat, airsoftatlanta, shortyusa, etc.

teach him gun responsibility, they are pretty strong, could cause serious eye damage and what not if not used properly, but if used responsibly then its very safe and lots of fun.

Airsoft are plastic, safe to shoot indoors. BB guns are the metal ones. Those can be dangerous, extreme caution are necessary. Some places are illegal to carry.
