What's your practical solution to mounting a 3.5" drive into a 5.25 bay? That would be more helpful than idle speculation about something that may or may not occur.

With all of the recent SSD deals, this deal will not help you at all. :D Instead, people are going to use this as a solution for mounting their laptop 3.5" drives into their standard desktop...

SSDs are 2.5", so you'd need a 2.5 inch adapter to put into this 3.5 inch adapter to put into the 5 inch bay. This is for putting internal hard drives (desktop sized, not laptop sized) into 5 inch...

yep i would be concerned about vibration though since it doesnt seem as if these have rubber grommets but that might not be an issue

Not an issue except for sound. 2.5" drives can be mounted sideways in I think 2 bays if I recall right. You can get mounts that will take around 6 to 8. In 3 bays you can get 4 3.5 inch...
