In my experience, the rerouting goes faster on a dedicated GPS. Also, I find it locks onto GPS signal faster and more reliably.

That's incorrect (I think). LM and LT mean Lifetime Maps/Lifetime Traffic. Lane assist is a feature most models have as far as I know.
