The 840 is an inferior drive. It uses TLC NAND which is slower than the MLC NAND used in the 830 series. Only the 840 Pro would be a worthy successor to the 830.

The complaint with OCZ is not that they are not fast - It's that a ridiculous percentage of them went *poof* all of a sudden at random times losing all data and the drive was dead. I had this happen...
