I returned this thing, it is nowhere near as good as the reviews in the real world. Signal definitely improved, but it still can't connect to most of those unencrypted APs.

I've used this Alfa. If you are around N wifi get the ALFA AWUS036NHR. I'm getting more than 10x my up and down speed with N rather than the limited G.
