Maybe it's different in lenovo's but the 32gb mSATA that comes in the dell xps 14 ultrabook is used as a cache however, you can change that and replace it if you want.

The mSATA will work, although at SATA II speeds. For a 2.5 inch drive make sure it is 7mm thick - Samsung's 8#0 series are, some Crucials M4s are but not all (this one isn't).

It kind of sounds like they're referring specifically to the cache SSD in their systems that ship with one, because they're not referencing the msata slot itself. Not that many would find 16GB...
