Maybe it's different in lenovo's but the 32gb mSATA that comes in the dell xps 14 ultrabook is used as a cache however, you can change that and replace it if you want.

The mSATA will work, although at SATA II speeds. For a 2.5 inch drive make sure it is 7mm thick - Samsung's 8#0 series are, some Crucials M4s are but not all (this one isn't).
