I wish amazon had a different UI. That is the only thing keeping me from the kindle. I don't mind the amazon eco system, but the lack of widgets and cool backgrounds in favor blows.

Smart-arse. The Fire HD has an OMAP 4460. The 8.9 and the HD+ have an OMAP 4470, which is much better. See nits per second. Fair enough.
